If your question to me was where to go and network, stay tuned for more blogs…there is a Junior Achievement event August 13, 2008 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Blue Martini at the Galleria Mall in Ft. Lauderdale, There will be a lot of people there!

Hi Mary:

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with your job search.

Since you are registered with some temp agencies, I would try some other avenues, like networking. Call up the local Bar association and see if they may know of someone looking to hire, try going to a lawyer association meeting (there are one’s for women too), look on some jobsites, like jobing.com, and if you have time, I would call some local charities and volunteer your time. It wouldn’t hurt for you to call everyone you know and specifically tell them what you are looking for, not just a job. One main thing you should definetly do is make sure your resume is targeted to the job your want and is crisp, clear, and concise. Oh yeah, and error free! I am having a difficult time obtaing a full time position. I was recently laid off after ten years at a law firm. I am a legal secretary with a background in word processing. I would appreciate you taking the time from your busy schedule to help me sort thru this maze and get a handle on things. I am registered with four legal agencies and have only worked one week in almost two months. The temp industry is suffering as well. What should my next step be? Thank you so much!
